Link strategies

There are a variety of different ways to create ingoing links.

Articles, press releases, e-books etc.

You can write articles or e-books on your subject and publish them in appropriate forums, chat rooms or you can offer them to the article bases like www.ezines.com. By supplying your article with an author signature that contains a link to your site, you have the possibility to get your article distributed to a number of websites, now all linking to you through the article and you will be able to market yourself and your site as an expert in your field.

Analyze your keyword competitors

Do a Google search on your main keywords and check the 10-20 highest rankings. If there is no direct competitors of your products or services, it is possible that they would be interested in you're linking to each other mutually.

Alternatively, investigate who is linking to them, i.e. Who is helping to build their Page Rank. If you have competitors offering comparable services, then the sites that link to them may also link to you.

It is a common mistake that outgoing links dilute the value of incoming links. Try also if possible to use a text link that can be found in keywords on the page you point to. OBS. This also applies to internal links between your own pages.
