Requires
some preparation, but is absolutely worth the effort. The tapas is
also good as a starter or try it in your packed lunch.
Preparation: 1 hour. Season: All year 8 cheese pies
Recipe
Paste
60 gram whole wheat flour (about 1 dl)
120 gram wheat flour (about 2 dl)
½ tsp coarse salt
100 gram cold butter
2 tablespoons cold water
Fillings
250g grated cheddar cheese 33% (50 +)
3 eggs (medium)
1 dl milk
½ crushed garlic clove
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp coarse salt
Decoration:
Iceberg lettuce
celery
Pre-bake: Approximately 12 minutes. at 200 degrees, C.
Baking: Approximately 15 minutes. at 200 degrees, C.
Paste: Mix whole wheat flour, wheat flour and salt together. Cut
butter into small pieces and crumble it into the flour. Gather the
paste quickly with water. Let the rest covered and cold for 1 hr.
Part paste into 8 parts and press them into 8 small lubricated tins
(approximately 10 cm in diameter). Press paste well along the edges
and dot it with a fork. Pre-bake the pies in middle of the oven and
let them cool down.
Filling: Spread the grated cheese on the pies. Beat together the
eggs and add milk, garlic, paprika and salt. Pour the mixture over
the cheese. Bake pies in middle of oven. Take them out of tins and
decorate them with Iceberg lettuce and celery.
